Rachael Parnell is a qualified and experienced makeup artist running her studio and makeup store 'Makeup and Glow' from Kelvin Grove in Brisbane. She will make sure you look and feel great for that special occasion.

Professionally-trained by renowned makeup artist Viv Rushbrook, at Brisbane’s Screen Makeup Academy, Rachael has a Diploma of Cinemagraphic Makeup and Special FX. She is constantly updating her skills and range of styles to keep abreast of the latest makeup trends and fashions. Ask for her advice, or suggest a look - Rachael is approachable and accommodating, and will take the stress out of the occasion.

Rachael only uses makeup formulated for High-Definition. This results in maintaining an immaculate appearance under the 6x magnification of high-definition cameras. This flawless picture resolution demands coverage from makeup that will work to conceal wrinkles, blemishes, acne and skin discoloration while giving a clean natural look to those in the spotlight. It is like a weightless second skin. Rachael prefers to use the traditional application of applying her foundations - with the aid of the magnificant Beautyblender Sponge - as this ensures they are water proof, sweat proof and streak free. This also means she can use her favoured method of applying the eye makeup prior to the foundation so that her clients face can have a cleaned base before applying the foundation. All makeup is sealed with Model In A Bottle that will hold foundation and eye makeup in place all throughout the day and night. It is resistant to smudges, tears, water and humidity.

Rachael is experienced in film makeup, stage makeup, fashion makeup, bridal and wedding makeup, and also hired as a makeup, skincare and grooming instructor and consultant. She is confident and well-presented, and highly regarded for her approachable and personable manner. Rachael can attend your wedding and keep things running smoothly - and if requested can be hired to blend into the background, ready to touch up faces during photographs and even the reception. A wedding makeup trial is strongly recommended and is performed in her Studio. This is usally booked 4 - 6 wks prior to the wedding, but can be earlier by request. Maybe you would like this trial to coincide with your bridal shower, and follow it up with a VIP Makeup Party! Makeup trials can be for the bride-to-be, her bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride if they wish and takes longer than a normal session; allow 1 to 1.5hrs for Rachael to discuss and perfect the style you want for your day.

As owner of Makeup and Glow online makeup store, and shop front at Kelvin Grove, you may book a VIP shopping and makeup experience in store. At $30 p/p you and your guests will receive champagne, platter food and VIP treatment where the shop is closed off to the public during your party as Rachael shows you fabulous makeup tips and tricks and guides you through the best makeup to suit your skin shade, face type and current trends. Finally learn how to do the looks you've always admired without the pressure or prices of a public makeup counter. Minimum 5 people, maximum 10. If you would like seperate one on one makeup tuition then charges do apply and can be discussed with Rachael. Gift Certificates are also available on all makeup services.
